Watch Out For Additives
Have you ever heard of additives? These things are found in different supplements and other things, and they’re not good! These additives are often flow agents. Flow agents are not something you ever want to find in anything you’re putting in your body, yet they appear on the ingredients list for many supplements and other pills.
These things are designed to work as a lubricant to help make it faster to produce the supplement. They have absolutely no redeeming value at all. In fact, they are actually hazardous to your health! First, every time you take one of these supplements, the flow agent gets into your body and beings to accumulate.
As it builds up, you’ll notice that the supplements don’t seem to be giving you as large of a boost as they once did. That’s because flow agents can actually prevent the body from absorbing the supplement. Over time, this build-up of flow agents can actually block upwards of 75 percent of the supplement you’re taking.
Damage from Additives
Flow agents also often contain ingredients that are absolutely horrible. One common ingredient in these agents is magnesium stearate. This flow agent is made up of over 50 percent of stearic acid. Studies have shown that this acid can inhibit the functions of T-cells and may also cause allergic reactions in some people.
Poor Quality Supplements
A lot of different supplements promise to turn your life around, but they really don’t do much. These supplements are full of fillers, flow agents, and other things that you do not want in your body. These fillers can actually make it harder for your body to absorb the vitamins it needs, so why would you take them? When looking at a new supplement, there are a few different things to take into consideration. Be certain to look at the ingredients list.
Remember that most supplements need to include only a small amount of the actual vitamin or mineral in order to qualify to be listed as a supplement. It’s also true that sometimes the main ingredient in these supplements isn’t actually the vitamin or mineral itself! Make sure you look at the label and see exactly what it is you’re putting in your body.
Why is this important? Because fillers and other additives can actually damage your body. These additives can cause cancer, leave you feeling exhausted, and much more. Additives are also used to take the place of important minerals and other, healthy ingredients in these supplements. Something that says it contains a specific vitamin may actually only contain a very small amount of that vitamin—it may be mostly filler.
