The Power Of Vitamin B
There are a number of different B vitamins, and all of them are needed by the body. These vitamins are often collectively called the B complex, and many people take them for a variety of reasons. Studies have shown that they can help with memory, mood, headaches, energy levels, blood sugar levels, and more. People take vitamin B as a way of dealing with anxiety and depression, too. Fortunately, these vitamins are available in a number of different foods, so it’s very rare for people to have a vitamin B deficiency.
However, that’s not to say that everyone gets their daily recommended amount of these vitamins. Most people don’t get enough B6, B12, or folic acid/B9. These vitamins come from animal protein, whole grains, and dark green vegetables. Some people just don’t eat enough of these types of foods.
But what can specific B vitamins do for you? Here are some specifics.
B1 – Thiamine – if you have a diet high in carbs, you’ll need more B1 to counterbalance those sugars.
B2 – Riboflavin – studies have shown that B2 can help reduce the pain from migraines.
B3 – Niacinamide – this vitamin can help provide you with a boost of energy, plus the body needs it to repair damaged DNA.
B6 – Pyridoxine – the body needs B6 to create neurotransmitters. It may also help relieve PMS symptoms.
B9 – Folic Acid – this vitamin can help lower the risk of stroke, heart disease, colon cancer, and birth defects.
B12 – Cyanocobalamin – if you have memory problems, take some B12. It may help.
The acai berry is very high in vitamins B1, B2, and B3, plus other vitamins like A, C, and E. If you need to add more B vitamins to your diet, you may also want to start taking an acai berry supplement. Research has shown that a supplement such as the acai berry may be able to provide you with a number of benefits.
