Naturally Lowering Your Cholesterol

High cholesterol is more of a problem than many people realize. In fact, millions of people around the world die every year from heart attacks caused by having high cholesterol. While some of these deaths are due to people simply not taking care of themselves, others are not due to negligence—they’re due to people not knowing that they have high cholesterol. It can be difficult to know when you have this issue, and it’s often discovered while looking for other problems. Many people who have been diagnosed are very hesitant to start taking major medication. They have heard about the side effects these medications can have on the kidneys and the liver. However, the good news is that there are some ways you can naturally lower your cholesterol.

Eat a Healthy Diet

This should seem like a no-brainer to anyone, but cholesterol gets worse if you eat horribly. The better you eat, the better your good cholesterol and bad cholesterol will be. That means the HDL (good cholesterol) will increase, while your LDL (the bad cholesterol) decreases. There are a number of things you can do to eat better. First, add more vegetables to your diet. Plant-based foods will help lower your LDL, while foods that are high in protein, especially animal protein, will help you with your good cholesterol.  Adding a graviola supplement might also be a good idea.  Research has shown that it may have beneficial properties.

Exercise

Exercise is another one of those things that seems fairly obvious, but many people simply don’t exercise enough. It does so much more than just lower your cholesterol, too. Exercising can improve your heart, your lungs, your muscles, your digestion, and much more. It will help prevent a number of diseases and can help reduce the symptoms of illnesses you’re currently struggling with. You don’t even have to exercise a lot—just walking for 30 minutes every other day is beneficial.

Get Enough Sleep

Finally, you also need to remember to get enough rest. Your body can’t repair itself if you’re not taking the time to get a good night’s sleep. If you’re not sleeping enough, your body is going to be unable to build back up its energy. You’ll be tired and, worse, your immune system and other bodily functions will be sluggish. This can lead to getting sick more often in addition to other issues.

Remember that to really control your cholesterol without resorting to prescription medication, you can’t simply do one or two of these things. You’re going to need to combine all of them. Eat right, exercise regularly, and get enough sleep, will help naturally lower your cholesterol. If you do, you may be surprised as just how good you feel.
