Energize Your Life!
Do you feel tired all the time? Do you wish there was a magic pill you could take to regain some of your lost energy? Well, while there’s no magic pill, there are some supplements and vitamins you can take that will give you more energy. However, don’t just grab any bottle of pills that claims it will give you more energy or has the word energy in its name. These products may not actually do much for you.
Don’t Turn to Caffeine
Obviously, being unable to function until the body gets that first jolt of caffeine is not healthy. The human body isn’t built to rely on caffeine, and it should never get to the point that it must have caffeine to function. If it were only that one cup needed, that would still be bad, but it’s not—if you want to avoid that mid-morning caffeine crash, you need another cup of coffee. Then comes the dreaded after-lunch sleepiness. There goes another dose of caffeine.
By the end of the day, you’ve had four or five cups of coffee or several sodas. You’ll then find yourself in one of two situations: either you experience another crash and fall asleep early instead of spending time with your family, or you have one more cup and find yourself still awake at two in the morning. That leads to needing yet more coffee the next day.
Get Some Rest
The first tip for energizing your life naturally is to rest more. People who don’t get enough sleep often have very little energy. Make certain that you’re getting the right amount of sleep for your body. For some people, that means a full 8 hours a night. Others may actually function better on only about 6 hours, while some people might really need a good 10 hours of sleep to be at the top of their game.
A good diet is key to providing your body with everything it needs to work correctly. If you’re eating a balanced diet, you should have all the energy you need to get through the day. That includes eating breakfast. Giving your body fuel in the morning is essential to avoiding that horrible tired feeling.
If you’re feeling tired and want a quick pick-me-up, don’t reach for caffeine. This drug is addictive, for one thing, and for another, it can cause more harm than good. Instead, reach for the B vitamins. They don’t work the same as caffeine or caffeine substitutes. Instead, they affect the way the body metabolizes foods and the energy that comes from these foods. So the more Vitamin B2, B12, niacin, thiamine, and folic acid you take, the better the body will be able to convert nutrients into food—up to an extent, of course. There is a cap on how much energy the body can get from food.
Try exercising in the morning. If you get up and go jogging, walk on a treadmill, or do a few simple yoga poses, you can jumpstart your day and have more energy. Plus, you’ll get your exercise out of the way!
You may also want to start taking an acai berry supplement. Research has shown that a supplement such as the acai berry may be able to provide you with a number of benefits.
