Balancing The Body’s pH Levels
Balancing your body’s pH, of Potential of Hydrogen, levels is a necessity to being healthy. This measurement is often used in chemistry to describe the amount of acidity a solution is. The scale ranges from 0 (very acidic) to 14 (less acidic, or more alkaline). A pH of 7 is considered neutral and perfectly in balance. The body itself has an acid-base ration where the balance between positive ions, which are acid-forming, and negative ions, which are alkaline forming, are perfectly in balance. If you had your pH levels tested, you’d want to see a result between 6 and 7.5.
You can actually test your pH levels at home using a pH strip. This little strip is very easy to use – just get some saliva or urine on it. If it falls between 6.0 and 6.5 early in the day and between around 6.5 and 7 at night, you’re fine.
What if it doesn’t? If your pH is too acidic, then you may have to deal with weight gain, damage to your blood vessels, kidney stones, bladder infection, hormone imbalances, osteoporosis, joint pains, and more. You may even notice that you appear to be aging more quickly than you’d like!
What can you do? One of the easiest things to do to bring your pH back into balance is to adjust your diet. Often, having a pH imbalance is due to missing certain vitamins and minerals. You may be deficient in calcium, vitamin D, magnesium, Omega-3 essential acids, and more. The same goes for being too alkaline. If you’re constantly showing a pH of more than 7, you may need to adjust your enzymes, add more calcium and vitamin C, or do a cleanse.
You may also want to start taking an acai berry supplement. Research has shown that a supplement such as the acai berry may be able to provide you with a number of benefits.
