Anxiety is a real issue, and millions suffer from some form of it every day. For some, it’s easy to overcome. For others, anxiety strikes in the form of debilitating panic attacks that can make it impossible to function. If you go to a doctor about your anxiety, you’ll probably be given some sort of medication for it. However, this isn’t always the case—sometimes being physically close to someone actually makes anxiety worse, so if you’re helping someone through an anxiety attack, ask before you do anything.

Address the Source, if There is One

Sometimes, anxiety comes on for no reason at all. At other times, there is a root cause. If you have social anxiety, for example, being in large groups of people will trigger it. If you know what the source of your anxiety is, try to address that source and deal with it if you possibly can.
